6 ways to spread the word.

First we need to thank all of you who've already done these things and more...free product placement on Canadian sit-coms, Yo-Yo commercials & MTV! Plugs by bands at shows and on CD covers! Comic books! And for the girl who tattooed No Sweat on the back of her neck, our special thanks. We are filled with a sense of gratitude and responsibility.

We grew 750% last year with no advertising. All because our customers told their friends and family about this serious alternative to sweatshops. If we do that again this year we'll be strong enough to start fighting the big brands on their own turf. Here are six easy ways to spread the word. Please pick a couple that suit you. And if you have some fresh ideas we haven't thought of, let us know!
 

1. Email.

The single most effective way to spread the word is via email. Forwarding info about us to folks who care works wonders. You can send an email to a friend from any of our product pages. Just look for the blue box beneath the Product Description.

In addition many people have started to include a one line plug in their everyday emails with our URL in their signature, like this:

Fight sweatshops with every thread you buy? No Sweat. www.ethicalsoles.ca/nosweat/

For maximum impact, use a different font and color from the main text. Feel free to get loose and create your own ad campaign. But no spamming, please! Totally counter productive.
 

2. Become an affiliate.

Got a blog or website? Then join our Affiliate Program! Once you're an affiliate, you or your organization can get a 7% cut of the sales that you generate just by placing a linked web banner on your site. 3. Give gift certificates.

4. Bulk order for your local organization or business.

Our Wholesale division has got you covered. Screen printing and embroidery is also available. Know a college club, religious group, non-profit, labor local, day care, camp, school or any other organization that needs Tees, caps, sweats, etc? Give them the No Sweat option. 5. No Sweat posters and stickers.

Download and post a No Sweat Poster at your local co-op, community bulletin board, coffee house, etc. where ever folks who care are likely to see it. Our stickers are also pretty nice. These should go on lunchboxes, lockers, bumpers, guitar cases, drum kits, etc. Not, of course, in public places where massive numbers of people are likely to see them. Such places would be turnstile booths, train & subway stations, hand dryer or towel dispensers in very busy public bathrooms or private restrooms in hot nightclubs or movie theaters. You get the picture. Don’t go there to put up our fabulous stickers where millions of people will see them. And definitely no gorgeous multi-colored No Sweat graffiti gracing gritty grey urban canvases all over the world. None of those!
 

6. Local retailers?

If there is an indie retailer in your town you think might be ready to carry the No Sweat line, let us know. We can help them stand up against the Wal-Mart of the world. To suggest a local retailer or to become a retailer yourself contact our retail team.
